From March 7 to 9, Rockland Centre and Alexis Nihon present Spotlight on Women, a community-unifying event designed to empower and propel women. Social and cultural issues, careers, wellness, safety, intersectionality: the full line-up addresses the many realities of women in a diverse range of formats. Presentations, workshops and panels intersect with professional photo shoots, yoga classes and vox pop.
"We want to initiate and nurture discussions with the women who visit our centres, to position ourselves as ally destinations and affirm our presence among them," explains Mélanie Castonguay, Marketing Director, Montreal area. "At the heart of our everyday destinations, women in our communities can spread their success, enjoy themselves and thrive."
Participating Partners and Retailers
The event relies on the participation of numerous local partners. Local organizations, public institutions and opinion leaders with rich and inspiring backgrounds are all involved.
Among them, we should mention Dress for Success, with whom the shopping centres are partnering to collect business wear. The organization, which supports and empowers women to achieve economic independence, will be on site on the days of the event. Complementing this initiative, the shopping centre will be holding a professional photo shoot to help women polish their LinkedIn profiles.
The complete schedule for each destination is available online. Participation in certain activities requires advance registration.
