The Next Generation of Artists on Display at Alexis Nihon

Until November 8, works of art created by students from the Fashion Marketing program at LaSalle College are adorning the windows of our downtown Montreal destination. The community is invited to admire the pieces and vote for their favourite. The creators of the winning project will receive a $1,000 scholarship to support their continued artistic journey.

"We wanted to energize and refresh our windows while highlighting local creativity and expertise," explains Noémie Palenzuela, Marketing Coordinator at Alexis Nihon. "This project also allows us to partner with our neighbour and collaborator, LaSalle College, and support the development of emerging artists, which is essential for the well-being of the communities we shape."

Four Unique Projects

The artists exhibiting at Alexis Nihon’s underwent a rigorous selection process. They presented their creative vision to a specially formed committee before being selected at the start of the summer. The chosen projects stood out by meeting the success criteria: clarity of theme, originality, balance in the use of space, sustainability, respect for the $1,000 budget, and integration of an eco-friendly approach.

While the theme "Those Around Us" is unique to the project, the artists’ interpretations are varied and surprising. The ability to create connections, self-reflection, the energy of an evening, and the impact of technology on relationships are all explored through the displayed works. In every case, the expression of individual stories illuminates the beauty of human relationships. The collection resonates with the vibrant daily life of Alexis Nihon, marked by its rich and inspiring cultural diversity.

The community has until November 8 to vote for their favourite artwork. The winning group will be announced on November 13.

The project was made possible thanks to the support of La Centrale des artistes and the participation of Desjardins.
