Collective Mobilisation at the Heart of Our Centraide Campaign
Once again this year, the Centraide campaign brought our teams together around a common goal: to make a concrete commitment to the community. Far beyond donations, it was the participation, energy and solidarity demonstrated that marked this year's edition.
Led by the Big Hearts Committee, this mobilisation is part of a long history of commitment at Cominar. Over the years, nearly $1 million has been donated to Centraide to support essential organizations and initiatives in our communities.
Starting the Conversation, Together
The campaign kicked off with a launch dinner attended by about 20 people at the Montreal and Quebec City offices. The visit by Amélie Dansereau and Catherine Francken, philanthropic development advisors at Centraide, set the tone.
Through an interactive activity on privilege, participants were able to visualise the differences between different life paths. The activity highlighted Centraide's essential role in helping people in vulnerable situations. It was a powerful and moving introduction that anchored the campaign in a collective and concrete commitment.
Creating Opportunities to Come Together
The mobilisation continued with a spaghetti dinner that brought together nearly 60 people in a friendly, generous atmosphere. The homemade sauces and desserts prepared by various members of staff certainly stole the show!
A virtual auction of customer and employee donations then allowed the engagement to continue. Although more targeted, participation was marked by genuine enthusiasm, particularly around a bottle of Antinori Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino 2020, which generated considerable excitement.
Participation that Makes a Difference
In total, nearly 50% of our large team got involved in the campaign. The goal of increasing the number of payroll donors was exceeded by 40% compared to the initial target. This result demonstrates the teams' ongoing commitment and their willingness to support Centraide in the long term.
